A woman who claimed to have been robbed of a significant amount of money in a bank parking lot has since been arrested on fraud and theft charges.
Authorities determined the reported victim, Loretta Sablan, actually knew the alleged robber, according to a Sierra Vista Police Department press release.
According to police, Sablan claimed she was attacked and robbed Saturday by someone in black pants. Other witnesses provided a better description to police.
Darryll Q. Wilson, 19, was caught hours after the incident with the stolen money.
Wilson was taken to the Cochise County jail on robbery and assault charges, Sierra Vista police said.
Sablan, 23, is now also being held at the Cochise County jail on suspicion of fraudulent schemes and felony theft. Police said the money she claimed was stolen belonged to her employer.
