A man who was wanted by the Pima County Sheriff's Department after he failed to show up to court to hear the verdict on sex charges involving minors was found dead in the desert Friday.
Gary Talkington, formerly an owner of an in-home daycare facility, was due to be sentenced on six counts of sexual conduct with a minor, officials said.
At about 11:16 a.m., joggers in the desert area near North Shannon Road and Linda Vista Boulevard called 911, said Tom Peine, a spokesman for the sheriff's department.
They came across a 1971 Ford pickup truck, in which a male was hunched over on the passenger side with a lot of blood, he said.
Deputies responded to the scene and confirmed his death. They notified homicide detectives, who positively identified the deceased man as the 60-year-old Talkington.

He showed obvious signs of trauma that appears to have been self-inflicted, Peine said. A note was also found at the scene, which appeared to be a suicide note.
