A 22-year-old man was arrested Saturday after he was suspected climbing through the roof hatch of a bank with intentions to rob it, police said.
Jesse Nolan Gatlin is facing one count each of attempted armed robbery and first degree burglary after police said they found him hiding in the air conditioning duct of the Canyon Community Bank, 8631 N. Silverbell Road, according to a Marana Police Department news release.
Marana police responded to the bank at 2:30 a.m. after an alarm went off.
Officers searched the roof after they found that someone tampered with the roof hatch and eventually found the suspect.
Gatlin was taken into custody after officers found a handgun and a mask.
Police are also investigating whether he was involved in a similar incident last year at the bank.
