An escaped inmate from the Arizona State Prison Complex- Florence was captured Monday afternoon in Pinal County.
Two Arizona Department of Corrections officers and a Pinal County sheriff’s deputy, along with a K-9, tracked Yelson Moreno to a field near a chile farm near Casa Grande. Moreno was tackled and then taken into custody. He is being sent to a maximum security prison unit.
Moreno, a Mexican national, came to the DOC on June 23 to begin a 30-month sentence for theft. He cut a hole in the fence at the minimum security north unit Sunday and escaped.
