For many drivers, traffic circles make perfect sense; for others they're a mystifying circular maze with rules. On July 31, 1974, many Tucsonans apparently fell into the latter category, and this roundabout, at West Miracle Mile and North Oracle Road, was set to be replaced. Transportation officials had determined it was too confusing. In its place would be a traffic signal and bypass ramps for West Miracle Mile and what was then North Miracle Mile.
