Here's a chance to recycle that old VCR that's been in the shed for a few years.
The UA BookStores at the University of Arizona are doing a free recycling drive this week for all sorts of electronic junk in Tucson.
This is the fourth year for the community-service project. Last year, the team collected 47 tons of junk on 120 pallets.
Collection takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at the UA BookStore loading dock. When you drive onto campus at East Speedway and North Mountain Avenue, signs will direct you to the dock.
UA BookStores sends the items to a California company, courtesy of Apple Inc., for safe recycling.
Hard drives will be ground to confetti-size pieces for security. The group will take old monitors and televisions, but the screens can't be cracked.
