Tucson Time Capsule: Do you remember Tucson Dragway?

Each day, we will choose a photo from the Star archives to run in the paper and on azstarnet.com. The photo will be one that was taken within the past 35 years. Whenever possible, the old photo will have been shot on the same date as the edition in which it's reprinted. If it's not from that specific date, it will be one from the same month.

It may be a groundbreaking ceremony, an appearance by a nationally known politician in town, or a gathering of Tucsonans at work or at play. But whatever it is, it will be a photographic time capsule of Tucson as it was.
