The highway up to Mount Lemmon is open to the general public up to milepost 14. However, if motorists want to drive beyond milepost six, they'll need either four-wheel drive vehicles or snow chains on their tires, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
The snow level on the mountain reaches down to about milepost 6.
