A series of 10 tai chi classes starts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Catalina Foothills High School for people who want to begin learning about the ancient Chinese exercise.
Another class is offered at 6:30 p.m. for people who have learned some of the form already.
Classes will be held Tuesdays at the school, 4300 E. Sunrise Drive.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing that permits movement.
Studies by the National Institutes of Health and other research organizations have shown tai chi helps manage arthritis, control blood pressure and improve balance, among other benefits.
The courses are part of the Catalina Foothills Community Schools adult program, which offers classes from basket weaving to tap dance. View the complete list of classes at www.cfsd16.org/schools/communityschools/adult.html
