A public memorial service is scheduled for Friday morning to honor the three LifeNet crew members killed in last week's medical helicopter crash on Tucson's north side.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. at the Calvary Chapel's East Campus, 8725 E. Speedway, said Craig Yale, a spokesman for LifeNet Arizona parent company Air Methods.
Pilot Alex Kelley, 61, paramedic Brenda French, 28, and flight nurse Parker Summons, 41, died Wednesday when the helicopter they were flying from Douglas to Marana crashed into a fence just outside a home on North Park Avenue near East Glenn Street.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash, and the helicopter's wreckage has been taken to Phoenix for further inspection.
LifeNet Arizona's seven helicopters and six central and southern Arizona bases were put on a safety shutdown immediately after the crash, but about four aircraft are now in service, Yale said Monday.
