A man piloting a helicopter that went down near Raytheon in the area of South Nogales Highway and East Hughes Access and East Hermans roads has non-life threatening injuries.
The pilot of the Robinson R-22 helicopter reported engine failure before going down about 9:40 a.m., said Ian Gregor a spokesman for the FAA.
He was taken to the trauma center at University Medical Center, said a hospital spokeswoman.
The man was the only person on board the helicopter, Gregor said.
The helicopter was being leased by Raytheon from Velocity Air, Inc. a local flight training school and aircraft storage facility, he said.
