The five Tucson-area Applebee's restaurants will donate 10 percent of designated proceeds today, Saturday and Sunday to a fund for victims of the Jan. 8 shootings here.
Customers who want to participate should alert their server that they are dining in support of "Together We Thrive Tucson," the victims fund recently opened by Safeway stores.
Applebee's diners can participate either by eating at a restaurant or by using "car-side to-go" service.
The Jan. 8 shootings at a supermarket killed six people and injured 13.
"In the aftermath of such a horrific tragedy, Applebee's is grateful to be in a position to contribute to Together We Thrive Tucson," said a Thursday news release from Christy Metcalfe, senior vice president of marketing for Thomas & King Applebee's, which owns and operates the five Applebee's in the Tucson area.
