Motorists driving along East Fort Lowell Road from North Alvernon Way will find their manhood called into question.
A sprawling banner hangs between two massive stones outside Cantera Carved Stone, 3751 E. Fort Lowell Road, with the not-so-subtle phrase: "GOT BALLS."
Brent Jones, a drafter and architectural designer at the stonework company, said he and his business partner of more than 10 years, builder Monty Bartholomew, weren't expecting a serious answer when they placed the stone spheres outside their business.
Bartholomew's idea was to attract curious passers-by.
The two carved orbs are cut from cantera stone imported from central Mexico. The big one is more than 6 feet in diameter and weighs about 16,000 pounds. The not-so-big one is 4 feet tall and weighs in at 8,000 pounds, Jones said.
