In honor of National Adoption Month, the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center Red Thread Families is screening three independent Chinese-adoption films on Friday, including a presentation and question-and-answer session with filmmaker Changfu Chang.
Chang wrote, directed and produced two of the films that will be shown and co-directed the third.
The films will be presented at the center, 1288 W. River Road.
The first movie, at 4:30 p.m., is "The Invisible Red Thread." In this film, a 15-year-old girl returns to her homeland to "discover the life she might have had if she'd not been internationally adopted," according to a press release from the cultural center.
At 6 p.m., "Sofia's Journey" will be shown. The film is about a 14-year-old girl who searches for her birth parents in China.
