Two Cienega basketball fans were arrested in Sierra Vista after the Bobcats lost to Buena High School Thursday, Feb. 13.
A husband and wife refused to leave the gym despite multiple warnings from police following what was described as an "emotional and intense" basketball game in which the Cienega boys team fell to Buena 54-62.Â
The pair, Sahib Buksh, 46, and 42-year-old Rebecca Buksh, were arrested on suspicion of criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. Â
After the matchup, several spectators from Cienega refused to leave the gym, Sierra Vista police said. The Buena school resource officer advised the group that student athletes from Cienega would be exiting the building to their bus from a different door and the fans needed to leave the building.
After ignoring repeated requests to leave the gym, the fans were warned that they would be arrested for criminal trespass, police said.Â

When an officer tried to guide the group out, Rebecca Buksh reportedly flailed her arms around and refused to move or make any effort to leave, according to a news release. Her husband, Sahib, also placed his back against the officer, with his arms extended outward acting as a physical barrier.
Once at the exit door, police say Rebecca Buksh extended her arm towards an officer, making physical contact. The officer decided to arrest her at that time, however, Sahib Buksh intervened, placing himself between his wife and the officer.Â
The officer turned his attention to arresting Sahib Buksh, who grabbed the door frame, dropped his body towards the floor and was resisting police, the news release said.Â
Police eventually gained control of the couple. The group was given at least 50 commands to exit and four warnings that they could be arrested for trespassing, the news release said.Â
No injuries were reported.
