A woman was killed this morning in a crash on the northwest side's curvy Roller Coaster Road, authorities said.
The woman was driving a pickup truck westbound in the 1700 block of West Roller Coaster Road in front of Lulu Walker Elementary School when she pulled to the side of the road to make a u-turn, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.
As she made her turn a sport-utility vehicle hit her pickup truck in the driver’s, Barkman said in a news release.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A male passenger in the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The SUV driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
