on Alzheimer’s walk
The Alzheimer’s Association is having a 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Kickoff Lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Old Pueblo Grille, 60 N. Alvernon Way.
The lunch will include information on how to build a walking team for the event, which will be held Oct. 19 at Reid Park, 900 S. Randolph Way.
Tickets are $20 and include lunch. Proceeds go toward supporting the local Alzheimer’s Association.

Ponds’ water supply
is subject of meeting
Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation is providing an update on the declining water supplies for the ponds at Agua Caliente Park from 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Agua Caliente Park-Rose Cottage/Education Building, 12325 E. Roger Road.
An update on the declining water supplies for the ponds at the park will be provided. Possible solutions will be discussed and actions in progress will be presented.

Preschool to benefit
from bluegrass, magic
Saguaro Christian Church will be holding a benefit for the Saguaro Infant Center Preschool from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 24 at the church, 8302 E. Broadway.
The Southern Comfort Bluegrass Band and magician Gene Collins will provide live entertainment. Admission is $10 per person.
