1 A 45-year-old man was cited on suspicion of drinking in public and released at 3:43 p.m. March 3 in an alley near North Sabino Canyon and East Tanque Verde roads. Deputies found him sitting on a crate next to a trash bin in the alley. He said he was taking a break from standing out in the sun. When he stood up, a deputy saw an open can of beer by his legs. He admitted the beer belonged to him.
2A man was arrested on suspicion of burglary at 8:25 a.m. March 3 in the 5000 block of North Kolb Road after a neighbor called the Sheriff's Department. A deputy confronted the man when he walked out of the house. The sliding screen door had been removed from the track and there were pry marks on the door frame. The man had a metal pry bar and an empty knife sheath sticking out of his right rear pocket. A silver jewelry box was sticking out of his left rear pocket. He told deputies the following: He was interested in buying the house next door but wanted to talk to the neighbors. He found the door open and walked in because he thought he heard someone talking to him. He denied breaking into the house and claimed the jewelry box belonged to him. A small plastic bag containing methamphetamine and a silver ring were found in another pants pocket. He told deputies he did not know what was in the bag and just picked it up. He said the knife was in his pants but deputies found it on the floor beside a kitchen window. The metal window screen had recent pry marks. The homeowner told deputies the silver jewelry box belonged to her but the knife did not. The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and booked into Pima County jail.

3Vandalism was reported at 3:43 p.m. March 2 at McDonald Park, 4100 N. Harrison Road. A Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation employee told deputies someone poured dirt and debris into the gasoline tanks of a power mower, a front loader and a John Deere Gator. He said the equipment is locked and stored in a fenced yard. He told deputies he was not sure how much it will cost to repair the damage.
4A stolen 1991 Honda Accord was recovered at 9:06 a.m. March 2 in the 6000 block of East Territory Drive after deputies received an anonymous tip. Deputies found the car parked in the driveway. The ignition switch was damaged and there was a strong odor of marijuana inside the car. The car stereo and the spoiler were found in the backseat. A records check on the Oregon license plate revealed the plate belonged on a 1994 Chevrolet sedan. The front door and a sliding glass rear door of the house were open. Deputies woke up a resident of the basement apartment. He said nothing appeared to have been stolen or disturbed. A second resident was reached by telephone and said he noticed the car during his birthday party on Feb. 22. He told deputies about 40 people were at the party. He told deputies he did not know who brought the car to the house or why it was left behind. The registered owner was contacted and the car was towed away for safe keeping.
