Elsewhere in the country, in Gunnison, Colo., the low for Monday is -9 degrees. The high is 32.
But Tucson will experience a much different weather this week, says Ricardo Humphreys, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Tucson.
The first part of the week will have a high in the upper 70s, he said. On Monday, the high temperature can get up to 80.
"For high temperatures, those are definitely above normal temperatures," he said. The historical average high temperature for Jan. 20 is 66 degrees. The forecasted temperature for Tuesday is 78.
There is a system moving in for Wednesday and Thursday, which could bring down the temperature a bit, he said. Even then, the high temperature from Thursday through Saturday would be in the 60s.
There is a chance of rain for the far eastern edges of the state, Humphreys said.
