A 3-month-old boy was found unresponsive Monday at an in-house day care on the city's southeast side, and was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.
At about 1 p.m., police responded to the 7600 block of East Fayette Street for a report of an "unresponsive" infant, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.
The neighborhood is south of East Stella Road, near South Prudence Road.
Tucson Fire Department paramedics transported the baby to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later, said Bay.
There were no obvious signs of trauma on the child, and no foul play is suspected, Bay said.
The baby's cause of death will be determined in an autopsy, said Bay.
Detectives are conducting an investigation into the death.
