Tucson police were searching for at least one gunman Thursday night after a shooting on the northwest side left one young man dead and another man wounded.
The shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. on North Tuttle Avenue and West Simmons Street, near West Prince Road and North Fairview Drive.
Laurie Byrd was outside with her dog when a man ran past, yelling at her to go back in the house because there had been a shooting with multiple victims.
"He said five people were shot," said Byrd, who lives a couple of blocks from the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing a young male wearing a red shirt running west from the shooting.
Tucson police confirmed they are treating the shooting death as a homicide.
No further information about the victims, a motive or any possible suspects was available late Thursday.
