Deputies are investigating the possible kidnapping attempt of a 15-year-old girl in Vail.
The girl’s mother called 911 about 8:30 a.m. after her daughter called her to say a man parked in the family’s driveway tried to put her in his car, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department Spokeswoman.
The girl told deputies that she was inside her house which in the 10800 block of South Alley Mountain Drive, near Cienega High School, when she noticed a small white boxy type sedan parked in the driveway. About ten minutes later, she noticed the car was still parked there and she “walked outside to see if they needed help,” Barkman said.
The girl approached the vehicle and the driver, a man in his late 20’s, told her he had been watching her, Barkman said.
The man got out of the car, grabbed the girl and tried to push her into the driver’s side of the car, she told detectives.

The girl then started honking the car’s horn trying to wake up her older brother asleep in the house. She ran back to the house and the man chased her to the front door.
He grabbed her again but she got away, ran inside the house and locked the door, Barkman said.
The girl then called her mother to tell her what happened and the mother called 911, Barkman said.
The man was 25 to 30 years old, the girl said. He wore a white and green striped dress shirt, khaki pants with black dress shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
