The U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Huachuca will hold a change-of-command Ceremony on Tuesday as commander Col. Thomas A. Boone hands off command to Col. James W. Wright, base officials said.
The ceremony will happen at 7:30 a.m. on Brown Parade Field. The public is welcome to attend the traditional military ceremony, which will be capped off by B Troop, 4th U.S. Cavalry (Memorial) in a dramatic, 1880s-style pistol charge down the parade field.
Boone, who assumed command of the U.S. Army Garrison in April 2014, will remain at Fort Huachuca for a new assignment at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence.
Wright assumes command after an assignment at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, home of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, a military prison complex, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the Foreign Military Studies Office.
