While Buffalo has suspended some of the cameras in the School Zone Safety Program, the program remains in effect for the Buffalo Promise Neighborhood Children’s Academy on Bailey Avenue, and the speed camera at the location is active, said Mayor Byron W. Brown.
Drivers captured on camera traveling at least 26 mph while the beacons are flashing receive a $50 citation mailed to the car's registered owner.
Five of the school speed zone cameras went into effect at private, charter or parochial schools that reopened in September, including the Children’s Academy.
