At about 5:10 a.m. on Aug. 21, William C. Fitzgerald, 39, was found shot inside a vehicle which had crashed into a wall in the 3100 block of in the 3100 block of West Capistrano Road, near West Bilby Road and South Cardinal Avenue, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release Sunday.
On Aug. 23, two days after being taken to a local hospital in critical condition, Fitzgerald died of his injuries, the release said.
Investigators are looking to find the other vehicle involved in the incident, which they believe to be the dark colored sedan captured in footage from a nearby security camera.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 911 or report anonymously through 88-CRIME.
