Police have released more information regarding the first-degree murder arrest of a Sierra Vista teenager on Sunday.
Theodore R. Ramos, 17, was arrested for one count of murder in the first degree, one count of kidnapping, one count of aggravated assault and 10 counts of sexual assault, said officer Tracy Grady, a Sierra Vista Police Department spokeswoman.
He will be tried as an adult, Grady said.
On July 24 around 6:10 a.m., officers arrived at a home in the 2600 block of East Suma Drive after a friend of the residents asked police to check on them. Police saw movement inside the home and heard the garage door going up, Grady said.
At that time, a 72-year-old woman ran from the home, Grady said, and officers found Ramos inside the garage with a knife.
Ramos was taken into custody without incident, Grady said.
