A Pima County sheriff's deputy has been placed on administrative leave while officials investigate a report he sexually assaulted a woman while on duty.
The deputy first met the woman when he responded to a call about a dangerous dog, and had called her on several occasions since then, according to a search warrant affidavit filed Wednesday in Pima County Superior Court.
Late Monday morning, the deputy went to the woman's house after telling her he wanted to talk about gunshots that were heard in the area, the document said.
The deputy approached her and pulled her toward him, then assaulted her, the document said.
The woman reported the incident about an hour later.
The Arizona Daily Star is withholding the deputy's name because he has not been charged with a crime. He has been with the department about three years.

His attorney, Mike Storie, said the deputy denies the woman's account. He said the deputy has had contact with the woman before, but only through normal law enforcement business.
"We are confident that, once the matter is thoroughly investigated, there will be no criminal charges filed," Storie said.
The Sheriff's Department asked Tucson police to handle the criminal investigation.
The Sheriff's Department had no comment on the incident, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a spokeswoman.
