A 26-year-old Tucson man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with the stabbing of a convenience store clerk during an attempted holdup on the Northwest Side.
Daniel Rene Molina, 26, was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder and attempted armed robbery, said Deputy Dawn Hanke, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
The 53-year-old victim remains hospitalized, she said.
The arrest stems from an incident Nov. 16 at about 10 p.m. when a man came into a convenience store at West Linda Vista Boulevard and North Thornydale Road, Hanke said.
He pulled a knife and approached two clerks, a man and a woman, Hanke said. The woman ran to get help and the man attacked the other clerk.
The attacker left the store empty-handed, Hanke said.

Through follow-up investigation, the sheriff's robbery assault unit was able to identify Molina as a suspect, Hanke said.
He was taken into custody around 8 p.m. in the 6200 block of West Rudasill Road without incident.
Online court records indicate that Molina has been convicted of criminal damage, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia over the last five years.
