A 23-year-old man is facing manslaughter charges after a crash that killed a 9-year-old girl on an all-terrain vehicle southwest of Tucson Friday.
John M. Kellogg was driving a Jeep Cherokee under the influence of alcohol at the time and was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, aggravated assault and criminal damage, said Deputy Nicole Feldt, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
The crash occurred at West Chumblers Road and South Spur Drive, near Sasabe Road and Guy Street, just before 10 p.m.
Kellogg was driving west on Chumblers near Spur when a four-wheeled ATV being ridden by a man and the girl exited a wash and went onto the road, the Pima County Sheriff's Department and court documents state.
Kellogg's vehicle collided with the ATV, a court document says.

The girl was flown to University Medical Center, where she died, Feldt said. The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Neither the girl nor the man on the ATV was wearing a helmet, Feldt said. The girl's name was not released Monday.
A witness told authorities that Kellogg was driving 60 to 80 mph, court documents say. The speed limit on the dirt road is 25 mph.
Kellogg left the scene but returned about five minutes later, a document says.
Kellogg was booked into the Pima County jail; he posted a $75,000 bond Sunday and was released, jail officials said.
Kellogg was cooperative during the investigation, the court document says, but he showed signs of being intoxicated, including having a strong odor of alcohol and red, watery, bloodshot eyes. He also was swaying, it says.
