Rosalinda Flores stood before Marcos Angel Silvas Friday and showed him her husband’s urn.
“I hope you remember this,” Flores told Silvas moments before he was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison.
On June 5, 2009, Luis Alfonso Flores was in his front yard on the city's southwest side with his son when three men wearing shirts over their faces approached, ordered them to the ground and announced they were there to steal some marijuana.
Flores was shot by one of the men and died five weeks later.
Deputy Pima County Attorney Mark Diebolt said Silvas and Angel Antonio Perez, 22, were arrested because Flores’ son recognized one of them and detectives found video surveillance from a nearby convenience store showing the suspects following Flores out of the store a short time before the slaying.

Perez went to trial and was convicted of first-degree murder and two counts of armed robbery.
Silvas, 24, pleaded guilty to attempted possession of marijuana for sale and was facing a maximum seven-year prison sentence.
Perez was responsible for Flores’ death, Defense attorney Brian Metcalf told Pima County Superior Court Judge Howard Fell Friday. His client was involved in a drug transaction, but he wasn’t involved in Flores’ death, Metcalf said.
He asked Fell to sentence Silvas for the crime he admits committing, taking into consideration his age, mental health issues and family support.
Rosalinda Flores told Silvas she believes “in her heart” he was involved in his husband’s death, and she hopes God will one day forgive him for taking a hard-working peaceful man away from his children and grandchildren.
She had to use funds she’d been saving for their 25th wedding anniversary celebration for his funeral, Rosalinda Flores said.
Perez is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.
