The victims: Morton Custer, 57, and Howard B. Custer, 60.
When and where: Thursday, Aug. 13, 1992, at Morton Custer's Northeast Side home in the 3600 block of North White Pearl Lane.
Investigator: Detective James Gamber of the Pima Country Sheriff's Department.
Summary: Howard Custer, a retired and respected educator from the Chicago suburb of Skokie, Ill., visited his brother Morton, who had lived in Tucson for about a month, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Department.
After Howard missed a flight home and his family members hadn't heard from him, they contacted the Sheriff's Department, Barkman said.
A deputy went the house to check on the brothers, but there was no response to his knocking on windows and doors, Barkman said. Phyllis Custer, Howard's wife, than gave the deputy permission to enter the house, Barkman said.

Both men had been shot in the head multiple times, she said.
There were no signs of forced entry into the house, and no property was stolen, she said.
The latest information: There are no new leads, suspects or motives in this case, Barkman said.
The Sheriff's Department is working with the Arizona Department of Public Safety's crime lab in Phoenix, using forensic handwriting and documentation analysis, in hopes of finding new leads in this nearly 15-year-old double-homicide case, Barkman said.
