Man sentenced in car wash killing
A Tucson man was sentenced Monday to life in prison with the possibility of release after 25 years for killing one man and attempting to kill another in an April 2010 shooting at a carwash.
Arturo Martin Flores, 24, was also given concurrent sentences of 10 1/2 years for attempted first-degree murder and 7 1/2 years for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, said Assistant Pima County Public Defender Dean Brault.
Flores must serve the first-degree murder sentence and attempted first-degree murder sentences consecutively, Brault said. Flores will serve the attempted murder and aggravated assault sentences concurrently and must serve 85 percent of that time before he can be released, Brault said.
Francisco Antonio Calvillo, 20, and his uncle Julian Garcia, 20, were washing their cars at a southwest-side carwash when two men in an Audi convertible pulled into a bay and the passenger fired three shots at the men.
