Douglas police arrest man in Tucson killing
The man wanted in the killing of 16-year-old Britnee Wright was arrested Tuesday in Douglas.
Jaime Antonio Chavez, 18, was arrested after Douglas police received an anonymous tip that he was dropped off in the area, said Sgt. Jose Duarte, a Douglas police spokesman.
Detectives found Chavez asleep on a couch at a home at about 7:20 a.m., Duarte said.
Chavez faces charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm at a nonresidential structure, police in Tucson said.
Tucson police had identified Chavez Monday as a suspect in Friday's deadly shooting.
Wright was shot following a fight that involved two groups of mostly teenage boys and girls at an apartment complex in the 8400 block of East Broadway, said Sgt. Diana Lopez, a Tucson police spokeswoman.
