EAST SIDE
1 Vandalism was reported at 3:57 p.m. May 14 near the intersection of North Freeman Road and East Broadway. A motorist told deputies the following: He was driving to work at 5 a.m. and turned west onto East Broadway from Freeman Road. He saw two teenage boys roll a basketball-sized rock onto the road where it crosses a wash. He did not have time to react and ran over the rock. He stopped and saw the boys run into the wash. He picked up a friend and drove past the same area. The same boys were trying to roll another rock into the roadway until they saw him drive toward them and ran back into the wash. The sway bar and transmission case were damaged on his car.

2Theft was reported at 9:29 a.m. May 12 in the 14900 block of East Rincon Creek Ranch Road. A resident told deputies someone took his laptop computer valued at $200 and a bottle of prescription cough medication when he was out of town May 8 through 10. He said his stepdaughter and her boyfriend were at the house all weekend and suspects they may have something to do with the theft.

3A student was cited on suspicion of possession of a narcotic drug at 2:05 p.m. May 11 at Cienega High School, 12775 E. Mary Ann Cleveland Way. The head of school security told deputies a girl was taken to the office after several students said she had cigarettes in her backpack. A prescription bottle containing 10 hydrocodone tablets was found in her backpack. The girl told deputies she took the pills from her grandmother. She was also cited on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free school zone and released to her father.
4Assault was reported at 10:18 p.m. May 9 in the 13200 block of East Mineta Ridge Drive. Two men who were attending a party at the house told deputies the following: They got into an argument about teasing a drunk friend. The argument turned into a tussle. The men said they were grabbing, pushing and shoving each other and both fell to the ground. According to the report, one man had a swollen ankle, a scratch under his left eye and a scrape on his forehead. The second man had a scratch on his neck and nose. The incident is under investigation.
