The Arizona Wind Quintet, a popular faculty ensemble from the University of Arizona School of Music, will present a concert at Academy Village on Tuesday, sponsored by the Arizona Senior Academy.
Open to the public and free of charge, the concert begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Great Room of the ASA Building.
The wind quintet was founded in 1975. It appears frequently on the UA campus and has toured throughout the western United States.
Its current members are professors Brian Luce, flute; Neil Tatman, oboe; Jerry Kirkbride, clarinet; William Dietz, bassoon; and Daniel Katzen, horn.
Their performances in the Tucson area have included visits to Academy Village, an active adult community off Old Spanish Trail six miles southeast of Saguaro National Park East.
For their Academy Village program the ensemble will play a composition with four movements by Anton Reidcha, Quintet in e-flat major, Opus 88, Number 2.

The second number on the quintet's Tuesday program will be Aires Tropicales by contemporary composer Paquito D'Rivera.
The concert will conclude with Beethoven's Quintet in e-flat major for Piano and Winds, Opus 16.
The five faculty members who make up the quintet serve as coaches and mentors for the Arizona Graduate Winds, a master's-level student quintet that will present a concert at Academy Village in early December.
Due to the increasing popularity of the Arizona Senior Academy's educational and cultural events at Academy Village, non-residents who wish to ensure priority seating are advised to make advance reservations. For more information on the concert or to make a reservation, call 647-0980.
