St. Philip's Friends of Music presents "Musical Collage: Music for Baroque and Modern Violin 2/3" featuring Laura and Toru Tagawa, at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell Ave.
Laura Tagawa will perform Italian and French baroque music, including some of the earliest sonatas written for the violin.
Toru Tagawa will play French violin music of the 20th century, including the "Sonata for Violin and Piano" by Francis Poulenc.
The Tagawas are orchestral violinists and chamber musicians. Laura Tagawa is a member of the Arizona Opera Orchestra and is pursuing a doctorate in musical arts at the University of Arizona. Toru Tagawa recently performed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Foothills Philharmonic.
They will be accompanied by Jeffrey Campbell on harpsichord and Kyungsun Choi on piano.
