St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church's fourth-Sunday home-maintenance workshop series continues in 2012.
This Sunday Jeff Brown, owner of AFC Flooring, will talk about the various types of laminate flooring and how to select them and give tips on how to install them (or select a contractor to do it for you).
He will also discuss hardwood floors and how to retrofit those and, for those with existing hardwood floors that need repair, how to do that.
The St. Philip's "Phixers," a group of parish volunteers who meet weekly to do maintenance and repair work around the church, sponsor this series of classes on general home-maintenance topics.
Professionals from the community teach different topics each month. Workshops are held at 12:30 p.m. the fourth Sunday of each month, usually in the East Gallery, and last about one to two hours.

Some may be hands-on, so participants should dress comfortably or bring a change of clothes.
The workshop in February will cover glues, adhesives, tapes and bailing wire - how to mend almost anything. Participants are invited to bring an object that needs mending, to receive advice from the professionals from the 22nd Street ACE Hardware.
Future workshops will cover rainwater harvesting using ready-made equipment, painting, choosing lumber, and other home-maintenance and improvement topics.
The workshops are free and the public is invited.
St. Philip's is at 4440 N. Campbell Ave. Parking is available in the north parking lot. The office phone number is 299-6421.
