Even though the temperature had taken a dramatic drop, hundreds of people gathered outside Sunday to shop for and sell antiques and crafts at the monthly Antique Fair at Tanque Verde Elementary School.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is held the first Sunday of every month whether it's a holiday or not, said Pat Tuttle, the fair's coordinator.
"We have had these on all sorts of holidays - New Year's Day, Christmas, whichever," Tuttle said.
It costs vendors $35 to sell their wares, and the money goes to the school district.
The event, which also features food and baked goods for sale, began 10 years ago as a Pima County-sponsored affair, but the Tanque Verde Unified School District took it over several months ago.
The fair allows community members to sell their arts and crafts, said Emmaline Raisch, who was helping her mother sell antiques.
