Foothills residents elicited ooh's and ah's from judges Friday during auditions for the first-ever The Foothills Has Got Talent Competition, sponsored by Catalina Foothills Community Schools.
The auditions ran three hours starting at 6 p.m. at Manzanita Elementary School, 3000 E. Manzanita Ave.
Adults, teens and younger kids turned out to showcase an array of talents with hopes of making it into the show, which will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at Catalina Foothills High School, 4300 E. Sunrise Drive.
Judges saw performances by a variety of musicians, including a trombone and piano duo that has been playing together for 40 years and a 6-year-old violinist who has been playing for two years.
There also was break dancing, juggling and even a comedy routine.
Contestants are competing not only for first place but for the prize that goes with it: Three hours of recording donated by 11:11 Studios.
