Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 7000 N. Resort Drive, will hold a winter solstice celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 21 in its Cascade Lounge.
The occasion, entitled "Starry, Starry Night," will feature Hanukkah music, traditional Christmas carols and Mexican music.
The event is free and open to the public.
"We were trying to look at incorporating all of our holiday traditions in one night," said Sarah Beal, the resort's public relations manager.
The event will culminate with a posada procession that will begin in the main lobby. Children dressed in nativity costumes and holding candles will follow a donkey through the lobby doors into the resort's parking lot in a re-enactment of Jesus Christ carrying the cross.
Local musicians Katy and Doug Martin, who perform regularly at the resort, will perform the Christmas carols, and a mariachi band will play Mexican music.

Free spiced cider, roasted chestnuts, gingerbread cake and star-shaped cookies will be served.
Beal said the resort is currently decorated with lighted, handmade stars. The decorations and celebration highlight Tucson as a center for astronomy.
