1 A burglary was reported at 10:20 a.m. Jan. 22 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 7000 N. Resort Drive. An employee told deputies someone forced open rear sliding glass doors. Two flat-screen television sets, an iPod clock, a comforter, several snack foods, beverages and other miscellaneous items totalling $1,834 were taken from a room.
2A woman was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence and released at 1:20 a.m. Jan. 21 at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park, 3482 E. River Road, after a deputy saw the woman drive into a fence. The car's front tires were flat when the deputy pulled the woman over. The deputy stated that he noticed the woman smelled like alcohol and had a hard time communicating. She told deputies she and her passenger had several drinks at two different bars. She said her friend told her to make a left turn and that was why she ran into the fence. The passenger also appeared to be intoxicated and said she was instructing the driver to drive better when the car leaped over a curb. The passenger was not cited. The two women were given a ride home by a friend.

3Theft from a vehicle was reported at 8:05 a.m. Jan. 21 in the 12400 block of East Sutter Mill Street. The owner told deputies someone took his iPod from the cup holder and a money clip from the center console. He said the clip contained his driver's license, a debit card, two school identification cards and a Blockbuster card. He told deputies he locked his vehicle but found it unlocked. There were no signs of forced entry.
4Fraud was reported at 12:36 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 4800 block of North Paseo Presidio. A woman told deputies she was calling about her mother, who had been notified by Bank of America that someone had written fraudulent checks on her bank account last November. She said her mother did not follow up and received several notices from collection agencies. She told deputies the majority of the checks were cashed at a grocery store. According to the report, approximately 18 checks totalling more than $4,800 were made out to about 10 different people.
5A burglary was reported at 11:23 a.m. Jan. 20 in the 6700 block of North Mamaronick Drive. A resident told deputies the following: Someone pried open her patio door and took a jewelry box. She lives in Minnesota for nine months and recently returned to Tucson for the winter. She believes the burglary happened in early December because she received an e-mail from the security company about a possible attempted burglary while she was still in Minnesota. The security guards did not check her house at the time because the front door was closed.
