Border and Immigration Ministries at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church present a film screening that offers an opportunity for learning, reflection and dialogue about the complexities of border issues.
The award-winning "389 Miles: Living on the Border" will be at 10:15 a.m. Sunday in the West Gallery.
The movie illustrates life and culture on both sides of the border from New Mexico to California. It stars the desert, immigrants, the Border Patrol, coyotes, maquiladoras, ranchers and citizens in the United States and in Mexico.
The film's director and producer, LuisCarlos Davis, will be at Sunday's screening and will discuss the hour-long movie after the showing.
The film began as Davis' master's thesis project with Professor Jennifer Jenkins in her class on Mexican cinema at the University of Arizona.
