In 1969, I was 28 years old and living in Phoenix, AZ. My 77 year old Grandmother, Anastasia Brophy Karie was visiting me. We were intently watching the moon landing when she said with her Irish brogue "and to think I walked to the privy in the rain." It broke me up and certainly was a reminder of the progress we had made as a nation.
