Most people here know that the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a popular and unique destination for winter visitors, but did you know it also offers a one-of-a-kind winter camp for children as well?
The museum, at 2021 N. Kinney Road, hosted its third annual Wild Winter Kids' Camp Dec. 27-29. The camp is for first- through third-graders and includes a variety of hands-on educational activities.
Campers could attend one, two or all three days, each with a different theme.
The camp was led by Desert Museum education specialists Robin Kropp and Amy Orchard, with help from members of the museum's Junior Docent program.
Campers went on group hikes around the museum, worked on crafts and observed and even touched some live animals.
For information about other programs the museum offers, visit www.desertmuseum.org/center/edu or contact reservations coordinator Beth Rice at 883-3025.
