From July 21: Curse or coincidence?
We bought a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu about two months ago to replace a car totaled in a four-car smash-up April 28. My husband, Ed, was in that wreck and he survived mostly intact.
The Malibu's engine light came on and went off once just before we left on our road trip to Texas on June 30. The light kept coming on while we were visiting my in-laws. It was off when we left their house to come home. But the light came back on and stayed on the last day of our road trip.
Ed called the dealership— and made an appointment to take it in the day after we got home. One week later, we got the car back with a new cylinder head.

We have a huge, storied past with cars that's caused by either bad luck, coincidence or what my daughter calls The Bertschy Car Curse.
From July 24: The International UFO Museum and Research Center.
We tried to time our visit to Roswell to coincide with the annual UFO Festival, but we were a couple of days late. We did make it to the International UFO Museum and Research Center.
Would we see a re-creation of the Roswell Incident? Are there artifacts? Do they have the "smoking gun" on display? Alien bones, perhaps?
We saw nothing of the sort. But there are a lot of panels with photos, newspaper articles, magazine articles, copies of secret government reports, dioramas and drawings.
