While Arizona celebrates its birthday, three American composers will celebrate the Americas in the music of MasterWorks III, which will be presented Friday by the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
The evening will begin with a preconcert chat at 7 p.m. followed by the concert at 8 p.m.
The church is at 7575 N. Paseo del Norte.
The Tucson Symphony Orchestra will musically recall old America from Charles Ives, snappy Latin-American tunes by Aaron Copland, a jazz trumpeter also portrayed by Copland and finally the Suite for Mountain Dulcimer by Conni Ellisor.
Tickets start at $40 per seat, with subscription discounts available
