NOW OPEN: Borderlands Brewing Co. opens a second location in Sam Hughes ft. Maria Mazon
- Updated
The location, on the corner of Tucson Boulevard and Sixth Street, used to be a sub shop. I remember visiting it on one of the first times my mom took me to Tucson. I loved the brick detail and the elegant feel of the Sam Hughes neighborhood. I told her, "I want to live here someday."
The neighborhood still feels aspirational. The spot inspired collaboration between Es Teran of Borderlands Brewing and Maria Mazon of Boca Tacos y Tequila.
This second Borderlands location is now open, with the beers you love from the brewery’s flagship location on Toole Avenue and a Mexican-influenced menu created by Mazon (think tacos dorados, chilaquiles and beer queso). Dine inside or on the dog-friendly patio.
The new spot, 2500 E. Sixth St., is open 2-10 p.m. (the kitchen is 4-9 p.m.), and a grand opening party is happening at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21.
