In May 2023, the US House of Representatives passed House Resolution 2 (HR2) the Secure Border Act of 2023. This bill went to the Senate for consideration and vote in May 2023, nine months ago. What happened to it? This bill addresses and includes detailed descriptions of asylum reform and border protection, border safety and migrant protection, prevention of uncontrolled migrant flows, ensuring united families at the border, protection of children, visa overstay penalties, immigration parole reform, and legal workforce. The details included in this bill can be found on the congress.gov website.
So, where was the network and print media reporting with discussions of pros and cons? Where were the demands for the Senate to take up, consider, and or amend this bill? Where was the outrage when none of this happened? Hmm! No bias here.
