For years the Democratic leadership has courted money, celebrity, and letting us “just get by.” These leaders also sat at the tables of political power and wealth and not at the people’s table. Instead of mentoring younger and smarter democrats they rested on their laurels, got old, played politics and forgot who they represent. As we can see, the outcome of living under the threat of losing money has made corporations, public agencies and public institutions bow their heads, eliminate what is right and get on their knees hoping they get missed by the tornado. However the rest of us do not need to follow that fear. This is not the United States I learned about and in spite of its historic mistakes and cruelty most of us have learned that our freedoms are valuable and so is doing what is right and just. Stand up and push back!
