In New York, ex-president Donald Trump was convicted of 34 criminal counts in the Porn Star/Hush Money case that the he says was the “weakest of the cases” that he’s facing. As a retired criminal defense attorney, I tend to agree that it was the weakest of the cases--and that fact doesn’t bode well for his chances in the Washington DC January 6th case where he’s facing 4 criminal counts. And, it doesn’t bode well for the Georgia Election case where he’s facing 10 criminal counts. And it certainly doesn’t bode well for the strongest of the cases, the Classified Documents case in Florida, where he’s facing 40 criminal counts. The Hush Money case may have been the “weakest” of the cases, but it was clearly a very strong case as the verdict demonstrated, and as the ex-president clearly knows.
